The NorthLegal Collections Conference, which was first offered in 2015, provides training regarding a number of collections issues including unfair and deceptive acts and practices; fair debt collection practices; repossessions; real estate collections and foreclosures; working with third party vendors (collection agencies, repossession agencies, attorneys); Servicemembers Civil Relief Act; 1099-C reporting and more.

The Bankruptcy Fundamentals Seminars are new one-day programs intended to provide participants with an overview of, and basic information about, consumer bankruptcy. This program is specifically intended for:

Those who handle bankruptcy and/or collection functions but who have received little formal training regarding consumer bankruptcy,

Those who have experience with consumer bankruptcy but recognize they will benefit from a refresher program (including those attending the NorthLegal Advanced Bankruptcy Conference, below), and

Those who do not deal with consumer bankruptcy issues but who will benefit from having a solid, broad understanding of the subject(such as collectors, lenders, managers who oversee collections and bankruptcy departments, CEOs of small to mid-size financial institutions, and individuals being groomed for management positions.)

The NorthLegal Advanced Bankruptcy Conferences will provide in-depth training regarding advanced Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy issues for consumer financial institutions. The program is intended for those who already have a good grasp of basic bankruptcy concepts (preferably through a mix of formal training and experience) and who are ready to deal with more complex information about exactly what bankruptcy law prohibits and permits.
